“Yoga is a light, which once lit, will never dim. The better your practice, the brighter the flame.” B.K.S. Iyengar

Sally’s spark for yoga began in India in 1989 and she has been practicing Iyengar yoga for 30 years. Initially she attended classes in Darwin before moving to Alice Springs. To continue to deepen her practice she started teaching alongside two other keen students. That was in 1996.

Sally continued to teach in Alice for another 16 years, training with Alan Goode. She is a Level 2 teacher and has attended classes in Pune, India with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar.

For the last 6 years Sally has taught at Yoga Mandir, a dedicated yoga teaching institute in Canberra with Alan Goode as the principal teacher. The experience of being part of a vibrant busy school and teaching along side peers, as well as the opportunity to attend regular classes and ongoing professional development has been profound. The spark which lit the flame continues to burn brightly.

Maintaining her long-standing connection with the Alice Springs Iyengar Yoga community, Sally has returned to teach on a regular basis.

Her aim is to inspire and support students to deepen their own practice and help them find ways to keep this practice constant through the many challenges of daily life.
